Image Database Screen Shots
Image Database is an application developed using Microsoft Access for cataloging and storing information about my own images.  Following are several select screen shots to help provide you with a glimpse of the application's design and the variety of information it was designed to collect.  See Image Cataloging for more information about image cataloging and classification.
Main Menu
The main menu affords the opportunity to navigate to one of four primary functions -
Images, Reports, Labels, and System Maintenance.
Images
This form provides select, at-a-glance, scrollable details for every image plus the ability to add, edit, or search  image information.
Image Entry Batch
Information common to several images about to be entered (such as camera, lens, film, and locale) can be entered on this batch entry form to speed subsequent entry of the individual images.
Image Entry
Information (all optional) entered in the Image Entry Batch form is automatically populated in this form.  Any remaining information specific to a given image may then be entered.  Form fields are color coded to denote values are required (yellow), optional (white), or unalterable (blue).  Once information for a particular image is saved an "index number" will be automatically generated and entered in the empty, unlabeled blue color coded field shown above.
Image Edit
Once information for an image is entered and saved, the data can be edited (or changed), as needed.  The image index number "2004.S.13.08" (for the image above) is comprised of values for Year, Media Type (i.e., S for Slide, N for Negative, and D for Digital), Roll/Batch number, and Frame number.
Image Search
One can search for an image using values selected or entered in one or more fields.
Image Inquiry
Search results provided by the Image Search form presents one with details about each image matching the search criteria.
Reports Menu
Developed two viewable/printable reports.  One report lists select information for all images and the other depicts errors encountered during application execution.
Slide Labels
Labels can be generated and printed for attaching to slides or prints.  One can produce labels for one entire roll, several rolls, or particular images on a given roll.  Also, included a feature for "Used Labels" allowing one to print labels on a partially used page of labels.  This report was developed for use with Avery #6467 labels measuring .5 inch x 1.75 inch.
Maintain Values Menu
This menu allows one access to forms for use in maintaining the fourteen value sets associated with the drop down selection boxes on the Image Entry form.
Maintain Lenses
An example of a value set maintenance form.  This one allows one to define the available choices for Lenses which are in turn then allowed for selection on the various image forms.
Maintain SubClasses
The SubClasses value set allows one to define a subclass and link it to an existing Class.  This process ensures dependencies between the Classes and SubClasses are maintained.
